Some Chicago Boyz know each other from student days at the University of Chicago. Others are Chicago boys in spirit. The blog name is also intended as a good-humored gesture of admiration for distinguished Chicago boys including those pictured above.

Go to the Library of Congress and get the book: "The 100 Best True War Stories of WWII," Written while the war was still raging, it contains stories found almost NOWHERE else. Among them is a story (whose title I forget, I am away from home and my personal library, where a copy resides) that goes into great detail about the battle of Guadalcanal wherein the Juneau was sunk. Fascinating reading from accounts of journalists with the fleet and interviews of the active participants. Wiki also has a bare bones account.
