Thanks, Dan – this video pointed me to a collection of Ayn Rand’s. Like this one. Thank you, again. [so gratifying to learn I think along the same lines! Even if I'm 1/10 of her erudition and ability to argue persuasively]

Affordable homes, health care, alternative energy, education, and funding failed banks are the major parts of the stimulus and might be (let’s say for the sake of argument) good things. However not one of them stimulate the economy to any great extent. They add value only marginally, if at all. We’re settling in for a long wait for prosperity, I think.
