Robert, I remember the burning down of Vail’s Two Elk lodge in 98 – is that the one you’re referring to?

With all the beetle kill trees for fuel the next fire could be devastate an area larger than the Hayman fire of 2002 (also arson), which still has watershed cleanup costs estimated around $100 million.

All it takes is one idiot, a typical Colorado summer, and some wind. Seems inevitable.

I think that Earth First has already tried to burn down some of the resorts in Colorada. I not be surpirsed to Eco-Terror instead of Communist/Hard left terrorism. I think people are becoming more concerned we are ignoring the enviroment and too focused on the economy.

I’m waiting for some eco terrorist to torch the ski resorts in Colorado. The pine beetle has killed hundreds of square miles of trees in the West, and they’re mostly red and dead near the major resorts. Some entire mountains are red, and in a few years will be gray. Maybe the next windy, hot August day……

Excellent point. Of course the media defines left wing and right wing terrorism differently. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Tea Parties scored as Terrorism by the Right Wing, at some point.
