U.S Senator Dick Durbin in the Sun-Times:
Speaking to a supportive* crowd of doctors, nurses and hospital administrators at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, his second invitation-only Health Care reform discussion in the Chicago area this month, he said he doesn’t need a boisterous town hall with partisans on both sides screaming to educate himself about people’s health care views.
“I’ve seen a lot of these turn into shouting matches, shoving matches. I don’t think that moves us any closer to any kind of understanding about what we can achieve. … It really isn’t conversation or good dialogue — it’s just theater,” Durbin said. “What I’m trying to do is bring in the professionals, the doctors, the nurses, the administrators, even the business people who are having difficulties with the current system, to see what their problems are to make sure we address them.”
*Okay, the bolding might be some kind of commentary on my part…
UPDATE: HotAir links to a Durbin appearance at a local Chicago television station: Two constituents wanted to know whether Durbin supported the individual mandates contained in HR3200, and Durbin pleaded ignorance.

Yes, wouldn’t want to face the people who actually VOTED for you, now would you?
You have to lie, steal, and cheat to make sure that rationing of care for the unwashed masses passes.
There is no way that any sane person in the medical field (with the exception of Hospice, which thinks they are of the medical field, but are in reality murderers*) would go for this plan. Period.
It’s ok…I hope that when the voters return to the polls they realize what a sleezy scumbag you really are.
*Terri Schiavo was murdered by Hospice. They denied her food. That is murder.
