You’d Think They’d Have Said Something

Does this guy sound like a leftists?

Indeed, Brezik seems to have inhaled just about every noxious vapor in the left-wing miasma: environmental extremism, radical Islam, anti-capitalism, anti-Zionism and Christophobia, among others.

In his “About Me” box on Facebook, Brezik listed as his favorite quotation one from progressive poster boy, Che Guevara. The quote begins “Our every action is a battle cry against imperialism” and gets more belligerent from there.

On his wall postings, Brezik ranted, “How are we the radical(s) (left) to confront the NEW RIGHT, if we avoid confrontation all together?”

As good as his word, Brezik’s marched on Toronto in June 2010 to protest the G20 Summit, where he was arrested, charged, and deported. “MISSION ACCOMPLISHED,” he boasted.

Guess what he did. Go ahead guess.

Okay, I’ll tell you.

In September 2010, five months ago, he tried to assassinate the Republican governor of Mississippi. He missed and got one of his college deans instead.

Did you hear about it? Neither did I.

I wonder why?

  1. the article at http://www.americanthinker.com by Jack Cashill has detailed background, the attempted
murderer, Casey Brezik, was a classic Lefty. Brezik said that he was trying to kill the GOP Governor, but
he mistakenly instead stabbed a college dean.
there was one brief story in the St Louis Post Dispatch, no followup. Consider how the press would
have treated an assassination attempt by a Palin fan/Tea Party type.

  2. Jay Nixon, Brezik’s intended target, is actually a Democrat, not a Republican. A mad dog is nearly as likely to bite its master as anyone else.

  3. Why are assassinations, ethnic cleansings, restaurant bombings and attacks on small groups of people done mostly by liberals and seldom by conservatives?

Socialists view society in terms of classes. When they hear the phrase “All men are created equal” they understand it to mean that “all men and women, who are in the same class, are created equal”. They believe that an individual derives his rights, including his right to life, from his class. An individual’s decisions are determined by his class. Therefore, he has no personal responsibility for his deeds.

The lack of personal responsibility combined with an on-going class war means that a good socialist cannot be bound by conventional morality. This is why whenever a person shoots a bunch of people, bombs a crowded restaurant or blows up a wedding, the shooter is usually (but not always) a liberal. Socialists believe that no deed can be vile if it is an act of class warfare. They do not believe any deed is intrinsically Good or Evil but rather that all deeds can be judged only by whether they advance a desirable social cause.

“Conservativism” (for want of a better word) is based on the individual and its main goal is to create and maintain a society where all men and women have equal rights – and where no one is more equal than anyone else. Conservatives believe that only the individual is responsible for his acts. There is no collective responsibility. The son is not responsible for the deeds of the father.

Conservatives believe in good and evil. They believe that an evil deed stays evil even if done for a socially desirable purpose. A conservative cannot commit certain deeds (such as assassination, ethnic cleansing, blowing up restaurants) because these deeds are morally repugnant. A socialist can do these deeds and feel justified, perhaps heroic, if they advance a desirable social cause.

A liberal will accept an invitation to a knife fight. Then, he will brag that he brought a gun. In this case a liberal brought a gun and lots of ammo to meet his governor. The deed went unreported because reporting it did not advance the Cause.
