The Zeppelins Are Coming

…to the U.S.A.

Back in 2005, I wrote about a modern airship design being produced by this German company. See the Wikipedia article here. I’m happy to see that Zeppelin rides are now available in London and Tokyo as well as Friederichshafen. And Airship Ventures, an American company, has ordered a Zeppelin NT and plans to offer air tours, as well as advertising and special missions. They’re based as Moffett Field (SF Bay area), which during the 1930s was a base for the U.S. Navy’s big dirigibles.

I see that Airship Ventures is looking for a Director of Marketing & Sales, which sounds like a fun job for the right person.

  1. Airship Ventures… has ordered a Zeppelin… [and] is looking for a Director of Marketing & Sales.

Once they bought the gasbag they had to also go hire one! Sorry, I don’t believe that awful nonsense about sales and marketing profeswsionals, it was lame, but I just couldn’t resist.

It would actually be fun to see some craft going in and out of Moffett.

  2. If the passenger deck can handle 20 to 30 people and had a good row of windows to the outside, the airship could be rented out for small weddings, with a choice view of the Bay in the background.

My resume is available upon request.
