One of my favorite quotes. Its also turns into something of a Zen koan if you think about it long enough.
People eat tasty animals = PETA.
Shannon – I will have to consult Mr. Safranski on that as he is about the closest thing I get to Zen.
It is a good joke but a poor argument. People are made of meat too.
I originally heard it as a Jack Handeyism and it was more religious:
“If God didn’t want us to eat animals, why did he make them out of meat?”
It adds a nice dimension I think.
“People are made of meat too.”
