One sign of impending winter at my household is that the plants on the porch are packed up and put away, after their harvest of tomatoes, herbs and of course hot peppers.

Wow, I can see the leaves changing color in the forest in the background!
Didn’t know what cold was – until I visited my sister in Chicago – right after Christmas.
Was walking downtown when the wind hit me coming from the lake.
Ah, urban balcony gardening, I remember those days. Can’t say that I miss it, though. Tomatoes and peppers still on the vine here in North Georgia, but not for long I fear.
Give thanks that you won’t have to deal with Frankenstorm.
We are only slightly ahead of you here in NH. But my son in Tromso already has 50″ on the ground, and my son in Nome tells me the harbor has iced over. And the length of days is 7 hours and 8 hours respectively.
