  • A Death in the Hague

Posted by Ginny on March 11th, 2006 (All posts by )

Slobodan Milosevic Found Dead in Cell. There will no longer be the endless, often meaningless time for visions and revisions, to murder & create. But is this the only way such a trial conducted by such a body can end? Ott reads the news.

      Yup

Great! I am opposed to the whole concept of trials for ex-national leaders.

They should be allowed a comfortable retirement on a tropical island. This will encourage them to step down peacefully instead of fight tooth and nail to remain in power.

Can the term “fiasco” be applied to the Milosevic trial? I think so. He was marvelously adept with his obfuscation and manipulative ability. Too bad he left the planet so soon. It would’ve been a benefit to all of Europe to see this hooligan convicted, sentenced and, ultimately, exponged.
