In beautiful downtown Goliad, Texas – on Courthouse Square, where Santa arrives promptly at 12:00 … mounted on a longhorn… accompanied by another longhorn – a spare mount, obviously. It’s a long way from the North Pole.

Fine looking livestock. I’m guessing they’ve been “altered”, lest Santa really get a sleigh ride. Interesting flag displayed, what does it signify?

It’s one of the flags from the Texas war of independence — IIRC, it was the flag done up for the local militia volunteers.

A small town Texas Christmas merits Bob Wills and the Texas Playboy performing Deep in the Heart of Texas. Come to think of it, I would be hard pressed to think of any celebration that wouldn’t be enhanced with Bob Wills. This version by
Gene Autry may not be up to Bob Wills standards, but the video is worth viewing.
