  1. The title rang a bell:

Under the Rainbow is a 1981 comedy film starring Chevy Chase, Carrie Fisher, Eve Arden, and Billy Barty. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0083254/

The plot is loosely based on the gathering of little people in a Hollywood hotel, to audition for roles as Munchkins in the movie The Wizard of Oz. The movie also has nobility, assassins, spies, and tourists.

The movie was nominated for Razzie Awards for Worst Musical Score by Joe Renzetti, and Worst Supporting Actor (Billy Barty). It received extremely negative reviews, many of which condemned the various sight gags involving the little people.

  2. We just found out that Ernie Banks passed away. A rainbow fits very well. There will be, and should be, several internet posts about his life. I already miss him.

  3. I had the chance to meet him a few years ago when in Mike Ditka’s restaurant. That seemed to be his hangout and he seemed pleased to be recognized and chatted with us. Great player and great guy. I listened to his games on the radio when I was a child in Chicago.

  4. Indeed, Ernie Banks was much beloved by all Cubs fans. It’s sad to let him go.
He was the greatest player the Cubs ever had, and he genuinely loved the sport in a way that players don’t anymore and probably can’t because of how it’s turned into a huge business
