Obama’s Real Ayers Problem

Okay, in a nutshell this is the real problem that Obama has with the unrepentant ex-terrorist Bill Ayers:

Ayers is Klan and nobody around Obama seems to care.

He’s the left’s version of the wack-job ex-grand wizard of the KKK who still thinks he did nothing wrong way back when. He’s not the toothless 12-ugly-guys-parading-among-the-jeers-and-mooning klan of today either. No, he’s the old-school shoot-the-civil rights-workers-and-bury-them-in-the-dam Klan. He’s an evil man who did evil things in an evil cause and who says (if you believe the NYT) that he would do it all over again…

…and nobody in the leftist community of Chicago and Illinois, including Obama and his inner circle, seems to care in the least. They see him as an acceptable person. The leftists in his university gave him tenure. The leftists in charities put him on boards. The leftists in academic associations gave him profound influence over your child’s education. The leftist politicians put him up for an important government education-reform project. Obama appears to have been there smiling all the while.

Ayers troubled Obama and his advisers so little that they did not even prepare a defense against the revelation of Obama’s ties to him. Pumped up by 15 years of hun stories about the evil Republican attack machine, it doesn’t appear to have occurred to them that anyone, anywhere, would make an issue out Obama’s repeated association with the leftist Klan.

Ayers’s happy life and community respect reveals the pustulant rot in the American far left. A rot that undermines everything Obama claims to stand for. If Obama and the rest of the Chicago left saw Ayers for the Klan monster he is, then academia would have shunned him and he wouldn’t have gotten such prestigious political appointments. The grey beards would have steered the promising young Obama away from him and his team would have recognized, long before it became necessary, that they would have to explain why Obama even lived in the same neighborhood as the man.

But nobody did and nobody has and they won’t. The leftist Klan is okay with them. That is why that crowd can never be let anywhere near the Presidency.

  1. Re: A worry about Ayers & Wright. November is far off; too many soundbites repeated too often may make them familliar. And I worry about the day the general public (outside of Hyde Park and various such enclaves) think that such a “Klansman” minister and such a terrorist “educationist” are acceptable.

  2. Ayers is way worse. He has a big influence on the training of teachers in America. He is still trying to destroy America, but he is smart enough to do it from within.

Also, he is, in person, I have this on recent and reliable first-hand report, a “sweet guy”, “very helpful”, “you cannot be doing anything in Hyde Park without him showing up.”

He is perceived as the eccentric old guy whose heart is in the right place. Just as liberals used to say Communists were just “liberals in a hurry”, this guy’s terrorist past is a plus, not a debit.

Lefties wear Che Guevara t-shirts because he had the courage to live their fantasies of violent revolution. Ayers is a human version of that.

The goal is the same: the destruction of capitalist society, the destruction of America as we have known it and its replacement by … something, something that has not happened yet, something utopian and different, where the kind of people that don’t “get it” are nowehere to be found.

  3. Did you notice that Ayers’ memoir, “Fugitive Days”, was published by those peace-loving Unitarians?

  4. Don’t mind me; I’ll be on one of the first busses to the re-education camps, but listen to the dogs that didn’t bark as those busses pulled in. One of the couples in this damned fool’s social circle was wanted (him and her both) by the FBI for terrorism, not for being cheap on the progressive dinner party; his spiritual adviser thinks that killing 3,000 random Americans is no more than cosmic poultry justice; and the love of his life thinks we might just possibly be allowed to vote for him (capitalization omitted on purpose) and redeem ourselves.

Are the American people really ready to elect someone who despises them? Must they do this in expiation of their sins? I do not believe in collective guilt, but allow it for the sake of argument. There were about 10,000,000 Africans enslaved in the New World. About 30% went to Brazil. (Ever hear of Brazil in terms of collective guilt? No? Why not?) About 500,000 (5%) went to what is now the US. About 500,000 Americans died in the struggle to end slavery. Coincidence? I think not, and I am not alone in thinking so: “Fondly do we hope, fervently do we pray, that this mighty scourge of war may speedily pass away. Yet, if God wills that it continue until all the wealth piled by the bondsman’s two hundred and fifty years of unrequited toil shall be sunk, and until every drop of blood drawn with the lash shall be paid by another drawn with the sword, as was said three thousand years ago, so still it must be said ‘the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.'”

“Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.” Does Wright deny this? Does he deny that whatever recompense the Lord requires, He has exacted – or will exact – on His own terms and in His own time? Does this arrogant son of the devil believe that the Lord Almighty must wait on Wright’s approval?

Jeremiah Wright is no more a Christian than I am a giraffe. “Howbeit in vain do they worship Me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” Let me name those men: Karl Marx, Maximilian Robespierre, Louis Farrakan, Al Sharpton, Colin Ferguson, Vlad Ţepeş, and Jeremiah Wright, in descending order.

  5. “The line of attack is clear: not that Obama is himself radical or unpatriotic, just that, as a man of the academic Left, he is so out of touch with everyday America that he could move so easily and untroubled in such extreme company and among such alien and elitist sentiments. ”
