Some Chicago Boyz know each other from student days at the University of Chicago. Others are Chicago boys in spirit. The blog name is also intended as a good-humored gesture of admiration for distinguished Chicago School economists and fellow travelers.

Always pack a spare.
I confess, I don’t “get” Benny Hill. Humor is so personal, isn’t it? Faulty Towers, Ricky Gervais, and Simon Pegg though….love Simon Pegg.

My Dad never cared much for TV. He did enjoy Johnny Carson but made eternal fun of Mom for her love of sit-coms (Petticoat Junction, Dick Van Dyke, etc.).
But when Benny Hill came on, he was hooked. It became must-see-TV each week. For the first time in my life, I actually saw him laughing over a TV show. At the age of 18, I just didn’t get it; Benny Hill was lame.
Forty years later, though, I’m starting to understand.
