Much time has passed, much has changed, and she is no George III. I don’t see any irony here.

If someone as intelligent, astute and decent as Elizabeth II had been the Queen in the years prior to the American Revolution, it would not have happened.
I will always remember the Queen ordering the Guards to play the Star Spangled Banner after 9/11.
While America should not have a king, it suits the British and the British are lucky to have her.
