One of the best vacations I ever took was with Jonathan as we tackled the famous El Caminito del Rey. You can see footage of that glorious day here:
For those who may be a little less adventurous, parts of the route have been re-built and are now officially re-opening. You can see a website on the Caminito and the restorations here.
The best part was when we tried hanging like bats underneath the path.
This is a very cool video and first saw it a few years ago. I’ve developed a fear of heights as I’ve aged but I’d still like to make this hike. I think I’ll skip the one up to Angels Landing though. https://vimeo.com/83370949
I don’t mind heights, particularly – just the prospect of falling off them.
Has anyone ever kept track of the number of people who have fallen?
That path in SERIOUS need of repair.
I had to keep averting the eyes from the screen. How nerve-wracking. “You’ll love it, it’s called an air-path!”

Thanks for that link Richard. It appears that in most sections they (wisely) “started over” and placed the new path above the old one rather then trying to reconstruct. This is now something that I might actually do someday.
Nancy – I couldn’t find an official record of deaths, but wiki says “several”.
