Some Chicago Boyz know each other from student days at the University of Chicago. Others are Chicago boys in spirit. The blog name is also intended as a good-humored gesture of admiration for distinguished Chicago School economists and fellow travelers.

The real issue dividing Americans, whole berry versus jellied cranberry sauce. Your THREE! ACTION TEAM® ends one family’s long struggle with a can opener and a spare serving plate. Film at eleven!
Sigh. I am of the ‘made from scratch’ whole-berry sauce side of the issues, but both my grandmothers were of the canned cranberry jelly side, the sauce schlorped out on a small plate, with the lines from the can displayed nakedly and unashamed to the world…
I’m partial to a relish-style mix of ground cranberries with orange (possibly because the grinding was often my task as youngster). My wife makes an excellent whole berry mix by heating the berries with seedless raspberry preserve and little OJ until they start to burst.
Never touch the canned stuff…
What is that? And where can I get some?
It’s all good.
What’s in the shot glass?
