These are in Maryland, a few miles outside of DC…they generally bloom a few days later than the ones at the Tidal Basin. I’m guessing peak bloom by this weekend.
Some Chicago Boyz know each other from student days at the University of Chicago. Others are Chicago boys in spirit. The blog name is also intended as a good-humored gesture of admiration for distinguished Chicago School economists and fellow travelers.

We will be in town this week and will drop by the Tidal Basin to see the cherry blossoms on the way to the National Gallery for the Meyerson Collection (don’t ask)
The nice thing about the area is that there are several varieties of cherry trees that blossom over a 4- 6 week period.
I have to admit that as much as I enjoy the orange blossom season back home, the cherry blossoms are better
