Some Chicago Boyz know each other from student days at the University of Chicago. Others are Chicago boys in spirit. The blog name is also intended as a good-humored gesture of admiration for distinguished Chicago School economists and fellow travelers.
The Picasso is goofy but it grew on people. The Bean is cool. This thing will always be just stoopid, that’s my prediction.
I like the equestrian statue of US Grant better than all the nutty modern stuff.
Is that Daley’s eye? Better than some other part of his anatomy, I suppose.
I wonder how this will age? That’s always a feature of public art that is hard to predict and so impacts the appearance. A little fading, a little chipping, a little weather-wear-and-tear, and I’m not sure how it will look.
At any rate, it’s a good depiction of big brother. If only all traffic or police cameras looked like that. It’d be truth in advertising!
