Some Chicago Boyz know each other from student days at the University of Chicago. Others are Chicago boys in spirit. The blog name is also intended as a good-humored gesture of admiration for distinguished Chicago School economists and fellow travelers.

First of all I would like to say awesome blog! I had a quick question that I’d like to ask if you do not mind. I was curious to find out how you center yourself and clear your mind before writing. I’ve had a
tough time clearing my mind in getting my ideas out. I
do enjoy writing but it just seems like the first 10
to 15 minutes are usually wasted simply just trying to figure out how to begin.
Any recommendations or hints? Kudos!
Assuming you are not spam, I say work from an outline, and set targets for each writing session. If it takes 10-15 minutes to get into the groove don’t worry about it. If you waste hours and days, that would be a problem. If you get writers block, type anyway. The physical act of typing helps. Try to put something down.
