  • Please Help Me Understand

Posted by Dan from Madison on September 4th, 2008 (All posts by )

I am a very simple person, with simple thought processes, and a pretty black and white view of things.  Since owning a firearm is essentially illegal in the City of Chicago (for now) can someone please explain this to me?

Easy. West Side and South Side.

I’m pretty sure there are some crimes on the books that don’t involve a firearm that will map out similarly.

But guns are illegal in Chicago, no? ;)

    3. SASSAMON Says:

From what I understand only police and the “correct” politicians may have firearms.

This map shows that the Chicago police and politicians need closer watching. /irony

Wow, I guess we need to strengthen those lax gun laws some more!

Its a quagmire, we should withdraw immediately.

So, you’re confused because gun control is supposed to be the cure for violent crime.

Perhaps this would be a good time for me to explain to you how raising taxes on oil companies will lower the price of gas at the pump. And while we’re on the subject we can go over how raising the minimum wage doesn’t cause inflation.

And then, if you are a good student, I’ll cap it all off with a little walking on water.

Don’t try to understand. Even the Chicago Police Department has senior officers still wearing old service revolvers that most departments did away with over a decade ago. Their is nothing uniform concerning types of firearms on the Chicago Police Department and that is reflected by their gun laws view. Chicagoians are firearms challenged. Have you seen a Chicagoian on a firing range? Scary, very, very scary!

The gun control loons have seamless arguments. The reason that Chicago’s gun-crime rate is so high is because of the other jurisdictions not having similar, tough, no-nonsense laws. Or that Chicago’s laws are not sufficiently strict, or enforced, or….

What a bunch of whining hypocrites!

      BackInBlack,

The same political culture created the appalling conditions in chicago also created Obama. The same political culture also views “community organizers” as significant actors. Indeed, one often hears responses to urban problems such as these in the vein of, “we’ve got to get the community organized!”

Sorry, you didn’t get the joke.

If you want hypocrisy: People like Obama have been posturing and preening while protecting their own political fortunes at the expense of economic welfare and physical safety of our urban poor. Their kneejerk reaction to this violence is to declare the ordinary citizen to stupid to keep a gun for self defense.

    12. BackInBlack Says:

      Granted, Obama is a hypocrite.

But look at the pic of Ronnie Raygun at the top of your page. The “Rugged Individualist” who sucked at the teat of Corporate America and the US treasury for a lifetime, while bemoaning the “cadillac driving welfare queen” (another racist myth of the regressive right).

You’d do yourself a lot of good to recognize that the entire left/right paradigm is a hoax designed to keep you distracted from the organized criminals who are raiding the treasury and usurping your rights.

“America: Freedom to Fascism” is a good starting point to understanding the scams of the Federal Reserve (100% private banking cartel) et al.

“The central bank is an institution of the most deadly hostility existing against the Principles and form of our Constitution. I am an Enemy to all banks discounting bills or notes for anything but Coin. If the American People allow private banks to control the issuance of their currency, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the People of all their Property until their Children will wake up homeless on the continent their Fathers conquered.” — Thomas Jefferson

      Oh, you’re one of those.

I really don’t want to spend the next two days explaining how fractional reserve banking works.

      Go away.

    14. BackInBlack Says:

Right, fractional reserve banking can only be understood by you B-school tools. I also earned an MBA. I sleep-walked thru it – after earning my engineering degree it was the intellectual equivalent of middles school.

But, You actually managed to get SOMETHING right – fiat currency is at the base of the scam. And you probably think the Fed is actually Federal. Dupes will fall for anything that is printed by the elites who drag them around by their noses.

Poor Shannon. Stay brainwashed your entire life.

It’s so much fun annoying you mindless dittoheads!

      BackinBlack,

I’ve met a lot of educated idiots in my. If you so smart then tell me what money is.

Haha…did a real person actually write this? Is this a put on?

This smacks of the bristled “My IQ is several points higher than yours…..I suspect” types of people.

How does one respond to people like this?

“oh..you’re a *smart* person..not like the rest of us. A thousand apologies sir, I didn’t mean to debate you or call your assertions into question. Now that I have confirmation from you about how smart you are and how you were a shining intellectual star in college, I can stop all this unnecessary disagreement with you…”

Also telling is the whole part about being wrapped up in what schools he went to and what degrees. Sorry, but people who rely on college degrees as proof of being smart are usually lacking in real smarts in my experience.

How about you point us to your published research or the think tank you head up with regards to the economy or the american banking system? No? Thought so….

guess you’ll just have to slum it with us mere mortals then…
