The worst part about riding your bike through the Pyranees in southern France is the awful views at the top of the mountains. This from the top of the Tourmalet.

Some Chicago Boyz know each other from student days at the University of Chicago. Others are Chicago boys in spirit. The blog name is also intended as a good-humored gesture of admiration for distinguished Chicago School economists and fellow travelers.
Looks great but where is your entourage?
Taking the photos and getting the lighting just right.
I am really jealous. Dream trip!
Who’s tending the cows?
I see that in winter when I come down the mountain from my home in Lake Arrowhead. Coming through that overcast can be a matter of concern as the clouds become thick fog on the road. The Los Angeles marine layer rarely reaches high enough to affect the sky above my home.
Contrary to the image of peace and tranquility of the mountains, I just learned of a police outrage that occurred here a month ago. I saw it in the local paper yesterday and now Instapundit has picked it up. You cannot escape the forces of the nanny state. I still can’t figure out what this young man did to require five taser hits.
I moved here to escape the city and it has followed me.
Cool photo, Dan.
