Which reminds me of the old joke about two guys looking up in the sky, at an airplane flying towards a towering thunderstorm.
First Guy: Gosh, I’d hate to be up there in that plane, flying into that storm.
Second Guy: I’d hate to be up there without it!
Aperture priority, lens wide open, crank the ISO, set focus at infinity and deactivate autofocus, take a pic whenever there’s a lightning flash. Keep lens close to window to reduce reflections from plane interior. Helps to be lucky to pass close to storms with frequent lightning. Also helps to take a lot of pics. Probably helps to use a DSLR and fast prime lens.
