Some Timely Breakup Songs

Relationships don’t always work out. That’s why there are breakup songs.

Sometimes, the feelings leading to a breakup are mutual…neither partner wants to keep the other one around anymore. And yes, I think Obama is as dissatisfied with us, the American people, as we are with him. He clearly finds us to be very inadequate and unappreciative.

So, time to move on. And in honor of the impending breakup between American and Barak Obama, here’s a selection of fine breakup songs.

Goodbye to You

Goodbye is all we got left to say

Hit the road, Jack

You’re so vain

50 ways to leave your lover

It doesn’t matter anymore

Red rubber ball

  1. From a website of country song titles:

Guess My Eyes Were Bigger Than My Heart!

How Can I Miss You If You Won’t Go Away?

    I Got In At 2 With A 10 And Woke Up At 10 With A 2.

I Liked You Better Before I Knew You So Well.

I’ve Got Red Eyes From Your White Lies And I’m Blue All The Time.

If the Phone Don’t Ring, Baby, You’ll Know It’s Me.

  2. Well, since BO has been called the “Hip-Hop President,” I suggest, with intended irony, Beyonce’s “Irreplacable”. Probably, most Hip-Hop aficionados would say Beyonce is not really a Hip-Hop artist, but her husband Jay-Z certainly is. What’s more BO is certainly “to the left, to the left.” BTW, here’s the link to the official video of “Irreplacable.”

  3. Is there a song called “Don’t Let the Screen Door Hit You in the Ass on Your Way Out”? If not, somebody should write it just for the current regime.

Maybe the guy who wrote about falling feeling just like flying—for a little while.

  4. alas, your country holdings are lacking. Country is the home of breakup and hurtin’ songs.
George Jones, :|”He stopping loving her today” “If the drinkin’ don’t kill me, her memory will” “Doing time in a honkeytonk prison.”
Gary Stewart, “She’s acting single, I’m drinking doubles”
“Thank God and Greyhound she’s gone”

  5. “I think Obama is as dissatisfied with us, the American people, as we are with him”

    Who is this “we” David?
We the people of the United States currently approve of the President’s performance (slightly), like the President considerably more that his opponent, and are, by a significant amount, inclined to reelect him, if the election were held today.

Sorry to rain on your little fun here, but it does strike an off note…

Actually, it refers to most of the people who comment and post here. I agree that we don’t deserve him and wish he would make an effort to find a population that does deserve him.

You are kind of amusing for spending your valuable time disagreeing with us. Surely you have serious matters that demand your attention, like contributing your wedding present money to Obama’s campaign or some such.

Jonathan, can we go back to posts about airplanes ? These new friends are just too smart for me.

No Michael, actually he wrote ” I think Obama is as dissatisfied with us, the American people, as we…”

Clearly he is referring to “the American people”. And so, it is kinda relevant to look at the polling numbers for the American people.

“These new friends are just too smart for me.”

Oh posh, Michael. You sound tired and lazy. I am betting you can play in any league that you want to. Engagement will keep you young…
